Acryllic on canvasGrowing up as a feminine person in the West, certain expectations and behaviors are placed onto you, oftentimes without you even realizing. There has been a struggle for me, throughout my entire life thus far, to combat these beliefs pushed on me both externally and internally. Finding peace with simply the way I look always comes in waves, as there always feels like there may be something to improve about myself physically. Throughout the process of painting this, I reflect on what these expectations have taken and given to me, and how that has carried through to me today.
